Barry F. Malkin is the Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Learning. An active operator, investor, and advisor to the educational services sector for over 25 years, Barry took on the role of CEO in 2015. Prior to Carnegie Learning, he was Head of Corporate Development and Strategy at Apollo Education Group, leading corporate development and strategy for one of the world’s largest educational services companies.His activities included, among others, the acquisition of BPP Holdings, Apollo Group’s largest acquisition to date and its first foray into the professional education sector; the development of a new post-secondary education joint venture in India with the Hindustan Times, and the establishment of new lines of businesses and products. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Malkin has been an active speaker and panelist on AI and ed tech nationally and internationally, including at the ASU+GSV Summit, the Future of Education podcast, the Associated Press, EdSurge, the 74 Million, and more. Malkin is a member of the Fast Company Innovation Council and has assisted the XPrize on the establishment of the Global Literacy Prize. Under his leadership, Carnegie Learning has quadrupled in size, won 15+ awards for products, including Best Educational Game for MATHia® Adventure, four CODiEs for MATHia® and MATHia® Adventure, and eight Best Places to Work awards consecutively. Carnegie Learning was named a 100 Best Companies for Innovators by Fast Company magazine.
