I’m Brett Waikart, CEO and Co-founder of Skillfully, a public benefit corporation reshaping employment to focus on real skills and abilities instead of resumes and online profiles. I founded Skillfully to help employers recognize talented candidates for their actual skills and abilities, enabling a more inclusive and skills-centric approach to hiring while giving job-seekers a fairer shot. Before Skillfully, I led Portfolios with Purpose, an edtech nonprofit that built financial literacy through hands-on learning experiences. Prior to PwP I spent ten years in the securities industry, where I designed and worked in complex securities markets and saw first-hand the need for accessible, practical education. Based in San Francisco, I'm an avid surfer, sailor and snowboarder.
