Bryon L. Grigsby, Ph.D., has served as the 16th President of Moravian University since 2013, solidifying its reputation as a leader in higher education. A Moravian alumnus, he holds a Ph.D. in English from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in medieval literature and the history of medicine. Before returning to Moravian, Dr. Grigsby held leadership roles at Shenandoah University and Centenary College. At Moravian, he has championed technological integration, making it a fully digital campus through the Apple initiative, providing every student with a MacBook, iPad, and Apple Watch. Under his leadership, Moravian has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for the third time, highlighting its commitment to innovation in education. He has also overseen major capital projects, including the Sally Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences and the upcoming Haupert Union Building. Committed to accessibility and affordability, he has expanded financial aid, increased enrollment by 26%, and grown the endowment by 49%. A published scholar, he explores digital humanities and technology’s role in education. In 2024, he helped secure Moravian University’s World Heritage designation as part of the Moravian Church Settlements. His leadership blends innovation with tradition, ensuring Moravian’s continued growth and global impact.
