Chris Jackson

Chris Jackson joined Big Picture Learning as Chief Communications Officer in March 2015. Like many students within the Big Picture Learning network, his path to this role was shaped by a pursuit of independent learning and a deep curiosity about the world. With a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado, Chris certainly has a way with words—but his expertise in graphic design, social media, and communications strategy was honed not through formal study, but through hands-on experience and an entrepreneurial mindset. Prior to joining Big Picture Learning, Chris worked in assessment at the Council for Aid to Education and in children's literacy at Reading Is Fundamental, where he embraced a “learn by doing” approach that made his transition to Big Picture Learning a natural fit. As Chief Communications Officer, Chris leads the organization’s storytelling, messaging, and outreach efforts, ensuring that the impact of student-centered, real-world learning is amplified far and wide. Whether shaping national conversations on education, elevating student and educator voices, or crafting compelling narratives about the power of personalized learning, Chris is dedicated to making sure every story is heard.
