Dr. Wilcox has been recognized regionally and nationally on numerous occasions for accomplishments in creating student friendly, active school environments for elementary and secondary students. In addition, Dr. Wilcox has been recognized for creating engaging technology rich learning spaces and for leading inclusionary practices while improving academic outcomes for all students. Dr. Wilcox has been recognized as one of the leading superintendents in America by the American Association of School Administrators, the International Society for Technology in Education and he has won the prestigious Mike Kneale Award for Superintendents. He has served as Superintendent of Schools in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Pinellas County, Florida, Washington County Public Schools in Maryland and in Charlotte North Carolina. He has also served as Vice President and Senior Vice President for Education and Corporate Relations at Scholastic, Inc. in New York
