Colton Gyulay

Colton Gyulay is the Chief Operating Officer of Speak, the leading AI language tutor, where he oversees operations and GTM globally. Since stepping into the COO role in 2022, he has helped scale Speak’s AI-powered platform to millions of learners worldwide, building the systems and teams that have powered its rapid international growth. No stranger to startups, Gyulay co-founded Coco Controller in 2012 alongside now Speak co-founder Connor Zwick. Backed by Y Combinator (S12), the company developed a mobile gaming controller that added physical directional controls and buttons to smartphones, bringing console-style gameplay to mobile devices. Gyulay’s career spans engineering, product, and operations at some of the world’s most notable consumer technology companies. He previously served in product and operations roles at Google and Scribd. Most recently before Speak he led operations at Vial, a next-generation CRO platform modernizing clinical trials. A Harvard University computer science graduate, Gyulay is passionate about building enduring technology companies and leveraging AI to create meaningful, real-world impact. He lives in San Francisco with his wife.
