
Courtney Giordano is the Associate Chancellor at UC San Diego, where she serves as a strategic advisor to the Chancellor and executive leadership and is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet. Her work focuses on advancing institutional priorities, aligning complex initiatives, and representing university leadership to key internal and external stakeholders in support of the university Strategic Plan. Previously, Courtney served as Senior Director of Strategic Global Initiatives at UC San Diego, providing executive leadership for international partnerships, global program development, and external engagement in support of campus internationalization. Courtney is recognized for developing multi-stakeholder, regionally focused engagement strategies that translate institutional goals into sustainable global partnerships. Her portfolio included collaborative and dual-degree programs, global internship pipelines, and research partnerships with institutions across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Notably, she played a key role in launching UC San Diego’s International Fintech Institute in GIFT City, India. Courtney began her career in Washington, D.C., administering professional exchange programs for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from UC San Diego and a master’s degree in history from San Diego State University.
