Dagem Abraham has always been a tinkerer—whether it was building LEGO engines at age seven or now, at eighteen, creating AI projects and businesses from scratch. He thrives on breaking systems down to understand their intricacies, then using that knowledge to build something entirely his own. This curiosity led him to coding and entrepreneurship, allowing him to turn ambitious ideas into reality. As a creator, Dagem strives to leverage technology—especially AI—to develop platforms that connect people with solutions. That passion led him to build PlatePal, an AI-powered platform designed to help people save money on food, reduce waste, and learn how to cook. By utilizing GPT models, rating-based machine learning models, and automated web clients, PlatePal serves as a comprehensive hub for all things cooking. This April, he will have the opportunity to share the insights and experiences he has gained from building PlatePal. Beyond PlatePal, Dagem founded Budding Finance, an app designed to introduce the younger generation to investing through bite-sized lessons on complex financial topics, utilizing sentiment analysis and LLMs. He also volunteers with Code2College, helping students develop skill sets for STEM careers, and previously worked as a Platform Engineering Intern at Arrive Logistics, where he built DevTools for a freight tech company. When he’s not working on new projects, Dagem finds creativity in cooking and playing guitar providing a way to unwind after long days.
