Dana Peterson is the Chief Executive Officer of New Schools for New Orleans, where he leads efforts to strengthen the conditions that allow great schools, educators, and communities to thrive. Over more than two decades, Peterson has played a key role in education leadership and reform efforts across Louisiana, including senior roles with the Louisiana Department of Education, the Recovery School District, and the Baton Rouge Achievement Zone. His work focuses on expanding opportunity for students and building systems that deliver stronger outcomes for communities. Peterson frequently writes and speaks about education reform, civic leadership, and the lessons New Orleans offers communities seeking to expand opportunity for students. He serves on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and remains active in civic leadership initiatives across New Orleans.
