David K. Moore

Dr. David K. Moore, known for his transformational leadership, was recognized as the 2025 Florida Superintendent of the Year and National Superintendent of the Year Finalist. He has led the School District of Indian River County (SDIRC) for just over five years, driving academic excellence. Under his leadership, SDIRC increased its state ranking for the District grade from #38 in 2018-2019 to #5 in 2024-2025. Additionally, SDIRC earned three consecutive "A" district grades and quadrupled the number of grade "A" schools. Notably, in 2024-2025, Grade 3 English Language Arts achievement levels were the second highest in the State. SDIRC graduation rates have steadily risen, with the most recent rate hitting 96%.
