Dean Kline is a senior consultant for the World Bank’s EdTech Team, working on digital learning, partnerships, frontier technologies and ecosystems. In addition, he serves as the Director of Global Engagement for the CERES research network. He was also Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of USC Rossier EdVentures, an edtech innovation hub and accelerator. Dean was a venture investor for 20+ years, with IPOs, acquisitions and mergers, including in education. As Co-Founder and Managing Director for Penn Venture Partners, he was Board Director for early-stage companies. Moreover, Dean was VP of another early-stage venture firm. He was on the founding management team of a hospital organization serving LMICs. Furthermore, Dean was VP at a large manufacturing company; Assistant to the World Bank’s U.S. Executive Director; and International Economist at the U.S. Treasury. He has lectured at numerous universities and contributed to the development of business accelerators, technology incubators, and regional innovation zones. Dean received his B.A. from Wheaton College and his M.Phil. and Graduate Diploma from Cambridge University.
