Dr. Patrick Frias co-leads one the largest and most highly regarded pediatric health care systems in the nation. With three hospitals, a growing network of primary and specialty care centers in six counties, and more than 12,000 employees including 2,000 physicians, Rady Children’s Health was created in January of 2025 when the parent companies of Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego and CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) merged. Dr. Frias served as President & CEO of Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego for six years before the merger. During his tenure as President & CEO of Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, the Hospital was named among the top 10 children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for the first time in its history. Under his leadership, Rady Children’s excelled in the areas of child and adolescent mental health, genomic medicine, orthopedics, neonatology, cardiology, and many others.
