Geoff Converse

Geoff Converse is a dedicated researcher with experience blending machine learning and psychometrics. After receiving Master's degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science, he obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematical and Computations Sciences from the University of Iowa. Geoff's research focused on applying neural network ML methods to parameter estimation in Item Response Theory. This exposure to psychometrics opened the door to education technology, and he joined Finetune Learning as an AI Scientist in 2021. At Finetune, Geoff worked with other early adopters of LLMs to develop Finetune Generate®, an AI-assisted item authoring tool. Geoff continues to work in the generative AI space, exploring new applications of AI and crafting creative solutions to address the current technology's shortcomings.
