Ian Wilhelm is a deputy managing editor for Chronicle Intelligence, a division of The Chronicle of Higher Education, focused on content to inform colleges and universities about national issues and develop ways to solve pressing problems on campuses. He leads the news organization's events, including its marquee virtual event, The Chronicle Ideas Festival. Previously at The Chronicle, Wilhelm served as an editor helping manage a team of reporters focused on enterprise stories, and prior to that, was the international editor as well as a senior writer for The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the newspaper for the nonprofit world. In 2014, his article for The Chronicle, "The Professor and the Prisoner," was a finalist for the Education Writers Association award for best magazine writing. As a freelance writer, his articles have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, the Religion News Service, USA Today, The Washington Post, Newsday, and other publications.
