Professor James O'Meara, Dean of the College of Education, is committed to preparing exceptional educators and addressing teacher shortages through a collaborative ecosystem approach. He fosters partnerships among schools, businesses, and families to create meaningful learning opportunities and robust support systems for educators. A key focus of his work is closing teacher knowledge gaps by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into teacher preparation programs, equipping future educators with innovative tools to enhance their teaching and better support their students. Additionally, he leverages AI to provide impactful coaching for teachers pursuing National Board Certification. With over 15 years of international experience, Professor O'Meara has collaborated with schools and universities across Africa, Australia, China, Europe, India, Mexico, and the Caribbean, bringing a global perspective to strengthening educational excellence.
