Jeffrey C. Riley currently serves as Senior Advisor at Day of AI, a non profit that has spun out of MIT to train teachers and leaders in the burgeoning artificial intelligence space. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Riley served as the Massachusetts' 24th Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education from 2018-2024. A Massachusetts native, Mr. Riley's experience spans urban and suburban districts and includes teaching in Baltimore, Md., being being principal of Boston's Edwards Middle School and serving at state appointed Receiver of the Lawrence Public Schools. Mr. Riley lives in Boston and holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Pomona College in California, a master's degree in counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and a master's degree in school administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University
