Jim currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Southern New Hampshire University, where he contributes to the university’s innovation and digital strategy efforts. He previously served on the boards of 1EdTech and Dreamscape Learn, helping guide initiatives that blend immersive learning, AI, and academic standards. Today, he advises several technology companies on AI strategy, digital modernization, and responsible innovation. Earlier in his career, Jim served as EVP and Chief Technology Officer at Cengage Group, where he led enterprise-wide digital transformation, launched the company’s first AI strategy, and helped establish a model for responsible AI governance. His work included patented frameworks for adaptive learning, content licensing for LLMs, and knowledge-driven automation across customer service and sales operations. Jim has also held leadership roles at Dassault Systèmes and SolidWorks, where he helped pioneer virtual and augmented reality applications and scaled the company’s SaaS and channel operations globally. A frequent TEDx and national stage speaker, Jim is passionate about the intersection of AI, education, and the future of work. His current focus is on helping institutions and companies connect emerging technologies to human capability—building organizations that are not just more efficient, but more intelligent and adaptable.
