Jon Mowl is a fourth-generation Deaf entrepreneur, accessibility advocate, and founder of Play With ASL, a groundbreaking platform revolutionizing ASL education through gamification. With a background in business analysis, finance, and technology, Jon has dedicated his career to breaking communication barriers and advancing accessibility. Previously, he managed a $775M operating budget at the Defense Logistics Agency, where he also spearheaded initiatives to enhance workplace accessibility for Deaf employees. His expertise in education and AI has positioned him as a thought leader in language equity, EdTech innovation, and Deaf inclusion in technology. Jon is a multi-sport athlete, having represented Team USA in basketball, team handball, and golf at international competitions, including the Deaflympics. His passion for perseverance and inclusivity extends into his work, advocating for "Nothing about us without us" in AI and machine learning design for Sign Language users. Under his leadership, Play With ASL has grown rapidly, securing partnerships with educational institutions, corporations, and government agencies to ensure ASL education is accessible to all.
