
Kate Parsons is the Chief Strategy Officer at the CAPS Network. She has spent nearly two decades in the K-12 education and non-profit spaces, where her career has centered on innovation, equity, human-centered design, and fostering a love of learning through authentic experiences and opportunities for young people. At CAPS, Kate manages various aspects of organizational systems and structures related to strategic priorities, while also leading new initiatives and seeking out partnership opportunities for the network. One of the newest initiatives she is spearheading is the launch of the CAPS Middle School Affiliate Network. Prior to her role at CAPS, Kate served as Co-founder and Executive Director of Portal Learning, where she led the design and launch of an innovative micro-high school, and then, a career learning program model focused on personal development and experiential career learning. Kate brings a wealth of experience in education, having worn many hats before these roles as well. She previously served as Principal of Da Vinci Design High School, a leading project-based learning charter school network in Los Angeles. Prior to that she taught high school math and science in public schools.
