Charter School Growth Fund

Kevin Hall has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Charter School Growth Fund (CSGF) since 2009, leading the nation's preeminent nonprofit venture philanthropy fund dedicated to expanding access to high-performing public charter schools for underserved students. Under his leadership, CSGF has scaled its impact by approximately 10x across key metrics, now investing in ~200 charter school networks operating 1,600 schools and serving over 760,000 students—75% from low-income families—with a strategic goal of reaching one million students by 2030. Kevin directs CSGF's philanthropic venture capital strategy, identifying and investing in the country's highest-performing charter school operators that demonstrate exceptional academic outcomes, sustainable growth trajectories, and the capacity to thrive on public revenue. His tenure has transformed CSGF into the sector's most influential growth catalyst, setting new standards for what's possible in public education. Prior to CSGF, Kevin served as Chief Operating Officer of the Broad Foundation, where he shaped the foundation's grant investment strategy across multiple education initiatives. He co-founded and led business development for Chancellor Beacon Academies, a national charter and private school management organization. His earlier career includes strategic roles at McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs, as well as leadership of a division at infoUSA. Kevin began his career as a Teach for America corps member, teaching elementary school in central Los Angeles—an experience that continues to inform his commitment to educational equity. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Swarthmore College.
