Kristin Hultquist

Kristin D. Hultquist is a nationally-renowned expert in higher education policy and strategy development. Kristin's 30-year career includes work at the federal and state levels, where she focuses on policies that improve opportunity and economic mobility, particularly for first generation students like herself. Kristin was appointed by Governor Jared Polis to the Board of Trustees of Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado’s largest Hispanic-serving institution, in December 2019 and reappointed in 2024. She has held several leadership roles on the board, including Vice Chair and Chair of the Governance Committee, and most recently served as Chair from 2023 to 2025. She co-founded HCM Strategists in 2008 because she believes in the power of policy solutions that integrate effective storytelling, rigorous analysis, sharp insights and politically sensitive strategy.
