Dr. Kristin Lord is Vice President of Global Strategy & Engagement and Professor of Practice at Arizona State University. She works with university leadership, faculty, and staff to advance ASU’s global charter by expanding education and training opportunities, supporting research that serves the public good, and leveraging ASU’s strengths to benefit communities worldwide.

Previously, Dr. Lord served for more than a decade as President and CEO of IREX, a global education and development nonprofit operating in more than 100 countries. She also held senior leadership roles at the United States Institute of Peace, the Center for a New American Security, the Brookings Institution, and George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.

Lord is the author of numerous books, articles, and policy papers, including Perils and Promise of Global Transparency: Why the Information Revolution May Not Lead to Security, Democracy, or Peace. Lord serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She holds a BA from American University and an MA and PhD from Georgetown University.
