
Kyle Bowen is Deputy Chief Information Officer at Arizona State University, where he leads efforts to transform how the ASU community experiences technology to learn, work, and thrive. He also serves as the principal technology leader for ASU Health, advancing a new model of technology-enabled medical education and care. A self-described storyteller, Kyle is passionate about transforming education at scale with technology. He was appointed by the Governor of Arizona to the state’s AI Steering Committee, where he shapes strategy for the responsible and innovative use of AI.
Previously, Kyle served as the director of innovation for teaching and learning with technology at Penn State University and director of learning informatics at Purdue University, where he defined university strategies to advance with new and emerging technology.
An entrepreneur, educator, and frequent speaker on innovation in higher education, Kyle has contributed to more than 20 books on design, development, and usability. His work has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
