Dr. Lala Zhang is the Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer of Learning Genie. She recently earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) from the University of Southern California, where her dissertation focused on"Investigating the Influence of Family Engagement on Dual Language Learners' School Readiness." With over 18 years of experience spanning project management, government relations, consulting, and customer service, Dr. Zhang brings a strong understanding of public education systems and accountability structures. Before founding Learning Genie, she served in city government for five years, successfully managing multiple federally and state-funded projects. Her expertise in government contracting, grant compliance, and audit processes ensures operational excellence and regulatory alignment. A natural regulatory relationship-builder, Lala thrives on creating meaningful connections with both her internal team and customers. At Learning Genie, Dr. Zhang oversees Customer Success, Implementation, Professional Development, Support, and Contracts-ensuring high-quality service and strategic alignment with district goals. She is deeply committed to helping districts use data and technology to personalize learning, strengthen family-school partnerships, and close equity gaps, especially for multilingual and underserved learners.
