Laura Gray is an Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Instructional Specialist with Gwinnett County Public Schools, supporting teachers across 58 middle and high schools. Since transitioning from a math and computer science teacher, Laura has worked on initiatives that enhance content knowledge and pedagogical skills in computer science education. She coaches educators in implementing future-ready AI lessons, develops and leads district-wide professional development sessions, and supports the GCPS CS For All initiative, which aims to bring computer science education to all 139 K-12 schools in her district. Laura also leads support for district robotics competitions, including VEX and FIRST teams, and has written Georgia’s curriculum standards for courses such as Linear Algebra with Computer Science Applications and Data Science. Laura’s contributions have earned her numerous awards, including the Georgia NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Educator Award, GSMST Teacher of the Year, and the PAGE STAR Teacher for GCPS. Her corporate work, prior to teaching, was also recognized with two General Electric Management Awards for her leadership in business intelligence and two TDWI Enterprise BI Awards.
