Lucy Martin is a communications strategist and storyteller dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy as a national priority. As Vice President of Communications and Development at the Children’s Literacy Project, she leads efforts to engage all pillars of communities and national partners in the fight against illiteracy. She leverages media and narrative-driven advocacy to inspire action and mobilize volunteers. A co-producer of SENTENCED, Lucy has been instrumental in the film’s development since its inception, using storytelling to illuminate the devastating impact of childhood illiteracy. Since 2019, she has also served as a reading mentor in Los Angeles, ensuring her advocacy is grounded in firsthand experience. With a background in film production, comedy, music, and media, Lucy brings a unique perspective to the literacy movement. Her work bridges the gap between education experts and the broader public, ensuring that compelling narratives drive awareness and sustainable solutions. In addition to her role at CLP, she is an accomplished singer/songwriter, composing music for film and TV. Through her work, Lucy remains committed to using the power of storytelling to create systemic change, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
