Since December 2020, Maria Anguiano has been Executive Vice President of the Learning Enterprise (LE) at Arizona State University. LE serves learners of all ages and backgrounds to inspire curiosity, wonder and hope, in alignment with ASU’s charter and goals of advancing excellence in education, broadening access, and having a meaningful societal impact in a rapidly evolving, technology-fueled world. LE’s vision is to advance universal access to opportunity for learners at every stage in life.As a first-generation college graduate, Maria has dedicated her career to improving access to education for all learners. Her early experience in the heart of the finance industry (Barclays Capital and Deloitte) has given her an edge in envisioning sustainable, technology enabled, and scalable models for higher education that benefit the most underserved communities.Maria is an experienced leader in a variety of diverse environments, serving in leadership roles in VC backed start-ups to large public research universities. She has served as CFO of the Minerva Project and Vice Chancellor of Planning and Budget at the University of California-Riverside, respectively. Leading on a national stage, she serves on the Board of Regents for the UC system, the James Irvine Foundation, and KIPP Foundation, organizations that bolster economic mobility for underserved communities.Maria holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.
