Mark Koan

Mark Koan is the Chief Experience Officer at Canyon GBS, a software company that is revolutionizing how colleges and universities can harness affordable AI-powered technology to drive student success. Previously, he spent 25+ years leading higher education IT organizations. In 2022, he was selected by CIOs across the state to be Arizona's CIO of the Year for the Public Sector. At Arizona State University, Mark led several diverse IT teams and advanced strategic alliances with key industry partners such as Amazon, Google, and Verizon. Next, he served as the CIO for Phoenix College and then the 10-college Maricopa Community College system, where he modernized IT and led award-winning technology implementations to improve experiences for the hundreds of thousands of students they served.
