Mary Strain

Mary Strain leads AI and machine learning strategy for US education at AWS. Starting as a middle school teacher in the Bronx, she's held leadership roles in education and public sector tech as a curriculum developer, product lead, and VP of business development. She advises K12, higher ed, tech companies, and government on AI/ML, competency-based assessment, micro credentials, and blockchain verification to advance equity and access. Mary serves on The Education Design Studio at UPenn, The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color, NJ AI Task Force, and CSU AI Workforce Acceleration Board. For two decades, she's brought innovative solutions to the public sector. She holds a BA from Fordham University and an MPA from CUNY.
