Matt Kelly has been working in higher education for over a decade. He joined PeopleGrove from his alma mater of Georgetown University where he successfully managed the Hoya Gateway program, an Alumni Association initiative aimed at connecting students and alumni for career connections and conversations. In his current role at PeopleGrove, Matt works to research and address issues in higher education — primarily how to ensure that every learner, student and alumni alike, has equitable Career Access — with PeopleGrove's over 400 partners.Matt started his career as a middle school history teacher in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, before returning to Georgetown to work in alumni relations. He started his work at his alma mater in market research, working to understand the attitudes and needs of the 195,000 alumni of Georgetown University. He then took over the Hoya Gateway program, helping to meet the Career Access needs of those same alumni. He joined PeopleGrove in 2018. The twists and turns of his own career journey has given him an amazing appreciation for just how important it is to hone the transferable skills necessary for learners in today's job market. Matt holds a B.A. in Theology and in History from Georgetown University, along with an M.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He lives in San Francisco with his wife who graciously lets him feed his crazy golf addiction.
