As the leader of Google Public Sector’s U.S. Education, State and Local Government team, Matthew Schneider is dedicated to revolutionizing government services, improving educational outcomes, and accelerating research with AI. Matthew has pioneered and implemented AI solutions that deliver immediate, real-world impact, including accelerating AI adoption across entire state systems and forging innovative public-private partnerships to deliver critical AI skills to the next-generation workforce.
His team is spearheading key initiatives to improve the safety and efficiency of public infrastructure, while also partnering with leading healthcare and academic institutions to accelerate life-saving discoveries. This visionary work draws on his more than 26 years of experience in senior public sector roles at industry leaders including Cloudflare, Palo Alto Networks, VMware, and Cisco.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Buffalo. Recognized for his industry leadership, he was named Top Public Sector Leader to Watch in 2026 and frequently speaks at industry events. An Ironman Triathlete, dad of three, and youth hockey coach, Matthew applies the same intense focus and endurance to tackling the public sector’s most complex challenges, ensuring government and educational institutions can redefine service delivery for their communities.
