Mervin Jenkins

DR. MERVIN JENKINS - Nearpod BIODr. Mervin Jenkins, also known as Spectac, is a hip-hop artist who has collaborated with a Grammy-nominated producer and various other artists throughout his music career. Dr. Jenkins' contributions as an educator have been equally significant. He has held positions as a middle school teacher, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and central office administrator. As a school administrator, Dr. Jenkins was honored as a Principal of the Year in a North Carolina school district. For a decade, he served as a director in a nationally recognized education nonprofit. In 2014, Dr. Jenkins was invited to the White House to participate in a roundtable discussion for the ‘My Brothers Keeper Initiative’. As a speaker, Dr. Jenkins motivates students, their parents, and educators on the importance of student learning and its direct impact on the community.Currently, Dr. Jenkins serves as a National Academic Advisor (NAA) with Nearpod/Renaissance. He resides on Johns Island, in his native State of South Carolina, with his wife Chiffon.
