Michael H. Levine is Senior Adviser to Kapor Center, where he mentors entrepreneurs who are closing gaps of opportunity, access and outcomes for lower income communities. He previously was Chief Knowledge Officer at Sesame Workshop, founded and led the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, and was the executive in charge of the learning, research and social impact initiatives at Nickelodeon (Noggin). Dr. Levine is an internationally recognized policy and research expert who has led early childhood and K-12 educational transformation at public and private companies, foundations, and government agencies. He has deep experiences researching the educational, developmental, and socioeconomic implications of emerging media to inform policy and legislation, fuel innovation, promote educational equity, and influence scalable program impact. He is the author of 40+ publications and policy briefs, co-author of Tap, Click, Read: Growing Readers in a World of Screens, keynote speaker, and board member for five non-profits and three venture-backed firms. He was recognized as one of US’ most influential leaders in family policy by Working Mother magazine and in 2023 led a team awarded an Emmy Award for the popular civics series, Well-Versed.
