Mindy Sjoblom

Mindy started OnYourMark with over 20 years of experience in education starting as a teacher and startup specialist in Baltimore through TFA. She was then pulled to her home, Chicago, and school leadership as the founding director of curriculum and instruction and then principal at Rauner College Prep, a Noble School. Next, she tackled the role of Founding Dean of Relay Graduate School of Education’s Chicago campus. She partnered with charters, CPS, and TFA to provide innovative training for new teachers. Under her leadership, Relay grew to be the second largest and most diverse provider of teachers in IL. One of her most valuable contributions was the formulation of a “grow your own” residency for special education teachers. She also led advocacy efforts to ensure high quality teacher prep throughout IL as a key member of the state’s Partnership for Educator Preparation (PEP). Mindy then moved into an Entrepreneur in Residence role at Charter School Growth Fund where she was charged with building OnYourMark to support schools to deliver individualized instruction based in the Science of Reading. A late dyslexia diagnosis for her youngest son has led to an increased passion for ensuring that all students get systematic, explicit instruction in foundational skills. As CEO, Mindy has grown OnYourMark to serve thousands of children across the country through its High Impact Tutoring model and to lead the research field for virtual tutoring providers.
