Mya Baker is Chief Learning Services Officer at iCivics, where she leads the national team that partners directly with school districts and teachers to implement game-based civic learning at scale. Her work focuses on helping educators leverage iCivics’ interactive simulations and real-world scenarios—where students balance budgets, argue cases, draft legislation, and navigate democratic systems—to deepen critical thinking, civic reasoning, and authentic engagement.
In addition to leading on-the-ground district partnerships, Mya directs iCivics’ AI collaboration with Common Good, developing AI-powered planning tools that help teachers localize lessons, increase relevance, and design more engaging learning experiences. Rather than adding technology for technology’s sake, her work centers on how AI and games can strengthen instructional design and make student thinking more visible.
With more than 15 years of experience as a teacher, principal, and national education leader, Mya brings deep understanding of how K–12 systems operate—and how to translate innovation into meaningful classroom impact.
