Dr. Shangraw serves as president of Cintana Education. He oversees the corporate practice areas and is the executive sponsor for university partnerships in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, India, and China. From November 2021 to May 2023, he served as the founding president of American University Kyiv. Prior to Cintana, he spent 15 years as a senior executive and faculty member at Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Shangraw was the founding chief executive officer of ASU Enterprise Partners, which is a nonprofit parent company that develops and executes strategies to advance Arizona State University through corporate partnerships, fundraising, technology commercialization, and real estate. He previously served as CEO of the ASU Foundation and as senior vice president for research and innovation at ASU. He maintains his academic appointment as a professor of practice in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Prior to his tenure at ASU, Dr. Shangraw was the founder and CEO of Project Performance Corporation, a Washington, D.C.-based research and technology consulting firm. He started his career as a tenure-track faculty member at Syracuse University. Dr. Shangraw has a Bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College; a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University; and a doctorate in public administration from the Maxwell School, with a specialization in technology and information policy and organization design.
