Robert L. Manuel

President

DePaul University

Robert L. Manuel became DePaul University's 13th president in 2022. He previously led the University of Indianapolis, driving significant growth through new facilities and strategic planning. He prioritized access for underrepresented students, resulting in increased enrollment and improved retention.

At UIndy, he oversaw the construction of residence halls, a health pavilion, and an engineering school. He also established the university's first diversity, equity, and inclusion officer.

Prior to UIndy, Manuel held leadership roles at Georgetown and NYU, focusing on innovative academic programs and diversity initiatives. He has a history of involvement with faith-based education, including board service at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory High School. He currently serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.

Manuel holds degrees from Allegheny College, Syracuse University, and NYU. He and his wife, Wilmara, have three daughters.
