Rory Goss

Rory Goss is a young man from Northern Ireland who, during his A-level studies, was diagnosed with an exceptionally rare condition that resulted in the loss of 97% of his vision over a remarkably short period of time.

Despite this life-changing diagnosis, Rory demonstrated extraordinary resilience and determination, going on to achieve outstanding results in his A-level examinations. He credits assistive technology as a key enabler in allowing him to continue his education without interruption and reach his full academic potential.

Beyond his academic achievements, Rory is a remarkable example of the power of a positive mindset and an unwavering drive to succeed in the face of significant adversity. His story came to our attention when he reached out to Apple directly to express his gratitude — a gesture that led to a meeting at his school and the beginning of a valued friendship with Rory and his family, including his parents Joan and Michael.
