Ryan Oliver

Ryan Oliver, Regional Executive Director for BUILD.org in California, has over 25 years of experience as an education leader and program designer, delivering impact from Boston and Pittsburgh to Los Angeles and East Oakland. He oversees strategy, growth, and fundraising for BUILD's West Coast region and is a member of BUILD's national leadership. He started his career as a high school history/humanities teacher where he engaged youth in under-resourced communities with experiential project-based learning for more than a decade. Previous to his current role at BUILD, Ryan served as the Founding Program Director for BUILD’s expansion to Boston. A California native, he has lived, learned, and worked on both coasts and a few places in between. Ryan is currently based on the central coast of CA near Monterey with his wife and daughter. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies from Harvard University, a Master of Arts in Education from California State University Monterey Bay, and Principal Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.
