Dr. Saad M. Khan is Chief Innovation and Research Officer at Finetune. With expertise in NLP, computer vision and machine learning, his interests span a spectrum of multidisciplinary research that includes multimodal analytics, psychometrics, educational games and simulations. At Finetune, he leads the development of AI powered next generation learning and assessment systems, including GenerateTM, a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) system to author education content. Khan received the 2020 eAssessment Award for innovation in EdTech and won the 2018 NYU/Gates Foundation ‘Algorithms for Change’ competition for his work on using AI to improve learning outcomes for underserved students. Prior to joining Finetune, Khan served in leadership positions at ACTNext, ETS and SRI International and led programs funded by IES, DARPA and ONR, among others. He has authored over 30 publications and holds five issued patents. Khan received a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Central Florida in 2008. He is a senior member of IEEE and chaired the Signal Processing Chapter of IEEE’s Princeton Section.
