Sarina Peterson graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public policy with concentrations in nonprofit management and education policy. Sarina and her sister (Brianna Rapini) created the science YouTube Channel Amoeba Sisters, which specializes in teaching biology concepts by using illustrated cartoons. As of January 2024, the channel has grown to over 1.9 million subscribers with a cumulative view count of over 200 million, and their online community has translated video subtitles in over 22 languages. Sarina is a self-taught cartoonist who does all of the illustrations for the Amoeba Sisters YouTube channel. Prior to working full-time on Amoeba Sisters, she worked in a large public school district as a program evaluation analyst.
