
Dr. Sarup Mathur is the Associate Dean of Scholarly Advancement and holds the Ryan C. Harris Professorship in Special Education at Mary Lou Fulton College of Teaching and Learning Innovation, ASU. She is recognized nationally and internationally for her research on emotional and behavioral health and juvenile delinquency. Professor Mathur has been the coeditor of a special issue of Education and Treatment of Children on Severe Behavior Disorders in Children and Youth for over 25 years. She has authored or co-authored numerous articles, book chapters, and books on topics such as teacher professional development, effective strategies for children with emotional and behavioral disorders, creating equitable learning environments, mental health, violence prevention, and transition and re-entry. Additionally, she has led or co-led many federally funded projects aimed at improving special education, mental health, teacher training, professional development, capacity building, and leadership.
