Shad Ahmed

Shad Ahmed leads Economic Mobility at Anthropic, where he partners with companies, nonprofits, governments, higher education and philanthropy at the intersection of AI and economic opportunity. He is part of Anthropic’s Beneficial Deployments Team, which invests Anthropic’s assets – including its LLM Claude and its technical expertise – to enable an AI transition that positively impacts society. Shad was previously Chief Operating Officer at Opportunity@Work, a nonprofit social enterprise in the workforce development space. Prior to Opportunity@Work, Shad led Business Operations and Growth Strategy at Medallia, a customer experience management software company. Shad was also an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he focused on strategy, learning & talent development and organizational transformation for private, public and social sector clients across 4 continents. Shad holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics and History from Stanford University. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and 2 children.
