Shana Vidal White is the Director of CS Equity Initiatives at the Kapor Foundation. She works nationally on equitable computer science initiatives and programming at the K12 level, supporting CSforAtlanta, CSforOakland, and CSforDetroit as well as working with stakeholders nationally to improve teacher professional development and increase quality participation and success for historically marginalized students in K12 computer science and STEAM courses. She authored the Responsible AI and Tech Justice Guide for K12 Education, co-authored the Culturally Responsive Sustaining Computer Science Framework for the Kapor Foundation, and published several instructional and pedagogical tools for teachers to help them create culturally responsive computer science classrooms. Before joining the Kapor Foundation, Shana worked for sixteen years in K12 education, serving in public and private schools as a teacher and instructional technology specialist in metro Atlanta. Shana is passionate about disrupting the status quo and is strongly committed to justice and equity in K12 schools. She has a B.S. from Wake Forest University, an M.S. from Winthrop University, and an Ed.S from Kennesaw State University.
