Sofia Mohammed is the U.S. Executive Director of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, an international nonprofit dedicated to enabling young people to realize their potential through computing and AI literacy. In this role, she leads the Foundation’s strategy and growth across the U.S., expanding access to high-quality computing education through partnerships, programs, and community engagement. Previously, she led the launch of a culturally responsive digital coding academy at Black Girls Code and built partnerships with leading corporate and philanthropic organizations. She began her career as a math teacher through Teach For America, later becoming a STEM instructional coach and then serving as principal of an all-girls middle school in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Across each role, she has focused on building strong, cross-functional teams and community-centered systems that nurture young people’s potential and advance educational equity.
