Steve Shapiro

Steve Shapiro is founder/CEO of Finetune, a groundbreaking Edtech company credited with being the first to apply generative AI in the education and assessment space. Finetune was acquired by Prometric in 2022. Steve serves as Prometric’s Senior Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Assessments, applying AI-assisted assessment and learning technology across the credentialing, licensure, workforce readiness and education sectors.

In his role, Mr. Shapiro and his extraordinary team develop highly innovative, patent-pending technology involving AI-enabled products that can organically and creatively produce new content and intelligently classify and meta-tag content. Mr. Shapiro is a serial entrepreneur and three-time founder in the education technology and workforce training industries. He is a venture partner with LearnLaunch, a premier EdTech Accelerator program in Boston, a member of Cornell Red Bear Angels and an advisor for the Cornell University Center for Technology Licensing. Mr. Shapiro has a bachelors and an MBA from Cornell University and a Master of Education from University of Massachusetts-Boston.
