Tom is responsible for course-level analytics and psychometrics at WGU. His team develops student-level recommendation engines, student-level forecasts for course-level KPIs (such as completion probability and days-to-complete), analytic dashboards for KPIs, quality measures for courses and assessments, and analytic support for all WGU assessments to ensure validity, reliability, and fairness.
Previously, Tom has worked in product management, analytics, and strategy roles with edtech organizations including SunGard Higher Education (now Ellucian), InsideTrack, and Kuali Inc., and organizations outside higher education including Stamps.com, Kinko’s and Deloitte. He launched the first commercial course-level early warning system in partnership with Purdue University (called Course Signals), managed SunGard Higher Education’s highest NPS product (DegreeWorks), and developed models to identify the most coachable students and when best to reach them while at InsideTrack.
