Tracy Vitale

Dr. Vitale is serving in her 13th year as the Superintendent of Schools for the Seneca Valley School District, a large suburban public school north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her expertise is in school human resources. She is credited with opening and implementing the district’s first elementary world language program, starting the Seneca Valley Foundation and for her collaborative approach in leading educators in systems thinking. Prior to becoming Superintendent, she was an Assistant Superintendent, Principal and teacher in urban, rural and suburban environments in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. A highlight of her career was serving as the Principal of Seneca Valley Middle School. During her tenure there, the building was recognized for being a top-performing middle school in the state as a 2006 Don Eichhorn “Schools to Watch” winner and later recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. Most recently, her school district was nationally recognized by TIME for the newly constructed Ehrman Crest Elementary/Middle School in Cranberry Township. It was named one of “The Best Innovations of 2022” for design and creativity. This school serves as a national model for schools of the future and is toured by educators from all over the world. Dr. Vitale earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education English from Duquesne University, her Gifted Education certificate and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Carlow College and her Doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh.
