Vivian is Managing Partner, Ventures at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), where she leads impact investments across education, health and climate. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is a philanthropy that pairs engineering with grant-making, impact investing, and policy work to help build an inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone. Vivian has led CZI’s investments in such edtech companies as Age of Learning, Andela, Brightwheel, BYJU’S, Ellevation Education (acquired by Curriculum Associates), Eruditus Education, Handshake, Lovevery, NewGlobe Education, Newsela, OpenClassrooms, Trilogy Education (acquired by 2U) and Varsity Tutors (NYSE: NRDY). She has over two decades of experience in venture capital and private equity. Prior to CZI, she worked in technology growth equity at TA Associates, in venture capital at Accel Partners, in pan-Asian growth equity at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners Asia, as well as at McKinsey & Company. She holds an MBA from Harvard University, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in history, Phi Beta Kappa, and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in finance, Beta Gamma Sigma. She currently serves on the Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board.
