Deconstructing an Antiracist Learning Environment

Last year, at the 2021 ASU-GSV Summit, this panel convened to lead a discussion around Building a Sustainable Anti-Racist Learning Environment. We probed questions related to how is anti-racism different from equity.In 2022, we are reconvening these panelists for part II: Deconstructing an Antiracist Learning Environment. Panelists will move from the theory of anti-racist schools to share more deeply about how anti-racism shows up in the work that they do in the various sectors they are leading. This will be an interactive panel as participants will immediately be able to engage in workshops that provide specific anti-racist strategies such confronting silence or color-blind approaches in the face of racial biases, retaining Black and Brown educators, etc.
